Or
BPA could be the Reason you're a Woman
But first, How bout that Obama today! Bailed out the $*&%$#* one percent with our money and our kid's money but slap us some skin for marriage equality, brah.
Sexual identity is more than chromosomes
Nothing in biology is as fundamental as the distinction between male and female. However, those differences are actually quite small, even to the point where an intersex individual can be born with reproductive organs of both sexes.
Most believe that sex chromosomes determine our gender. If you are born with two Xs, you’re a woman. Inherit an X and a Y, you’re a guy.
Surprisingly, science shows us that this is not always the case. Individuals born with two X chromosomes and one Y may have a condition known as Klinefelter’s syndrome. Anatomically male, they lack normal amounts of testosterone and develop differently. While true Klinefleter’s is rare, 1-in-500 males carries an extra X chromosome yet live normal heterosexual lives.
British actress Caroline Cossey is one such XXY person. Born with male genitalia, in her teens Caroline realized that she was more female than male. At 18, the statuesque brunette adopted the name Caroline and landed a part as a bikini-clad Bond girl in “For Your Eyes Only.” She was soon outed by a tabloid and her acting career was ruined. In 1983, a court denied Cossey permission to marry her Italian boyfriend. Largely through her public advocacy, the U.K. Gender Recognition Act became law in 2005 and now offers legal protections for people like Caroline.
Individuals with androgen insensitivity syndrome have had nature take them in a different direction. Androgen is a hormone that stimulates the development of a male fetus. For androgen to be a useful signal it must be perceived. The androgen receptor gene codes for a protein needed to properly process the androgen signal. A mutation in the AR gene can render the protein useless and the fetus may develop as a female. Out of the 3 billion DNA molecules that comprise the human genome, a single change can cause an XY fetus to develop as a female.
As one of the most prominent individuals to openly discuss her AIS, jazz singer Eden Atwood has wrestled with gender identity for years. With all of the female external parts but no uterus or ovaries, Atwood is every bit a woman, but with a man’s genes.
We are still learning how subtle changes during critical stages of in-utero development can alter one’s physical, and even psychological, perception of gender.
Recently, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration rejected the Natural Resources Defense Council’s request to have bisphenol A banned from food containers.
Many know of the potential health risks associated with BPA, which led to its elimination from baby bottles and from all food packaging in Canada. What is less well-known is that in the 1930s, BPA was medically used as an estrogen replacement for women. The chemical structure of BPA and many chemicals found in pesticides, fabrics and plastics can act as hormone mimics. Studies have shown that these chemicals can alter the gender of developing offspring in many animals.
The Defense of Marriage Act defines marriage as being between one man and one woman. As politicians debate the legal status of DOMA, they should remember that the law relies on the unambiguous definition of terms. Science now shows us that the biological line between man and woman can be a very blurry one. As of last September, Australians may now select M, F, or X to indicate their gender on passports.
As one transgender woman who transitioned after being married to another woman put it, “We are two people who are each other’s soul-mates. Gender shouldn’t even be a consideration.” In a country founded on the principles of personal freedom and the pursuit of happiness, shouldn’t that be enough?

Tranny Universe
It's been in the news for a while, and dominated the results of Twitter searches on all things Trans for at least a week. Here's one of my favorite Tweets:

Except, it's Miss Universe, not Miss America. Hundreds of Tweeters got it wrong. Dey was jus so spaz wit dis fierce tranny! smh
Jenna Talackova will compete for the Miss Universe Canada pageant title May 19 in Toronto. But aren't pageants like Miss Universe just for real women? Real women...
Don't try to tell a transwoman that she isn't a real woman. We didn't just wake up one morning and decide to chop it off.
I mean, I get it; people want to see a perfect woman. Really, what's better than a beautiful, sweet girl with great talent, smarts and a smokin' hot body that could turn a straight girl lesbian! Nobody's perfect, though. How many girls in these contests have had some medical tweaking? Where do you draw the line? I propose having the contest in two categories: Non-op women and Post-op women, weather they began life with dangly bits between their legs or not. The dangle don't define doodly.
We are real women.
The changes we make to our bodies are an attempt to fit them to our identities. We really don't have the option to do nothing and still be treated as a female in society. Here's your choice, ladies: You can try to find peace being treated like a man, forever hiding your femininity, or express your true identity and still be misunderstood. That's it. Now what are you going to do?
We were born prewired as female but outfitted as male.
For that, we are disadvantaged women.
We are unprivileged women.
We aren't "real women" you say.
We're real women,
just not perfect.
UPDATE:
In the news this morning, the youngest person to have Gender Reassignment Surgery, Jackie Green, has made it to the semi-finals in the Miss England pageant.
*I'd like to point out that I'm not dissing transmen. The facts are the same for them. The text is just easier to follow from a single point of view.
The Miss America Pageant will now accept transgendered contestants Thank God we can now denigrate and objectify them like we do real woman

Coming in May
Wow, I do like the sound of that but I'm too tired to talk about it.
Look for snippits of the AWD crew, and maybe this ditz too, in an upcoming episode of Ultimate Sportsman's Lodge.

Film at Eleven
WTH?
The DIY network is filming at AWD tomorrow?
I don't know exactly why they'll be here but I'm sure it has nothing to do with Two Trannies and a Toolbox.
Dang.
I guess I gotta leave my boots and my corset and the whip in the closet. I think it would be a tad over the top for a G rated network, so, like I'm sorry you won't get to see any of my um, footage. In fact, I might not even receive any footage during this video, which would suck most unpleasantly. I will be entertaining, nonetheless.
Anyway, in about twelve hours, they are supposed to interview each of us and shoot us while working. I'll be there with bells on or, hey you can just shoot me right now!

A Follow-up, kinda-sorta
Watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding for the umpteenth time...
There are a few movies that I just HAVE to watch when they are randomly on. On the flipside, Tremors is another one.
I love the quote by Toula's father at the reception: "You know, the root of the word Miller is a Greek word. Miller come from the Greek word "milo," which is mean "apple," so there you go. As many of you know, our name, Portokalos, is come from the Greek word "portokali," which mean "orange." So, okay? Here tonight, we have, ah, apple and orange. We all different, but in the end, we all fruit.
Cool - discovered while searching for the exact quote: http://www.reellifewisdom.com/taxonomy/term/my_big_fat_greek_wedding
Oh Man! I am loving this site. This is some serious serendipitydoodejavumanchu for me at the moment.
Please check this out, enter a search word. Pretty dang cool.

Brave?
This is my response to a friend that thinks I'm all brave an' stuff but yea, you can read it, too.
I don't know about that, C.
I think sooner or later, everybody does what they *have* to do.
Risks are weighed and unfortunate consequences are eventually accepted as the price or we continue to endure life with our particular battle 'till we die or maybe someday we wake up and look back in horror and disbelief that time has passed so quickly - but it is too late. We did the best we could at the time and did what we had to do.
The softest, saddest words ever uttered by my grandmother: "My life has passed me by." I'll never forget her dazed expression or the crushing sadness we both felt.
For some people, the price of the cure; the price of freedom and peace of mind, is always just out of their ability to justify. After all, it amounts to not much more than trading one set of circumstances for another. The cure may have awful side effects and the freedom may be purely personal but nothing compares to the peace of mind and clear conscience enjoyed by those who can overcome their obstacle.
I'm glad that my biggest hangup in life was just my gender identity. Not that I could ever completely fix everything, but that I can do *something* about it makes life worth living. All I had to do to have peace of mind is express my gender. The unfortunate consequence is that I'm just a tranny, not a real girl in society's view. Okay, that and having to live with the threat of violence kinda sucks but...
No one gets out of here having the cake and eating it, too.
At least I'm going out in peace.
or pieces!
LOL
I had to. It's funny.

The Fucking Cookies are Real, Man
No, seriously, these are real chocolate fucking chunk cookies. It says so right here on the package.
Okay, it doesn't say anything about fucking. or not.
"Real chocolate chunk cookies." I'm not sure if it's real chocolate or real chunks or real cookies. I do understand "made with real cheese." This is the real deal, yo. Cheese made from, like, a real cow's actual milk.
I have been conditioned to expect misleading advertising. I know that if they spell it "cheeze" that it isn't actually cheese and if the word "cheese" is followed by the word "food," that's not cheese, either.
Advertisers know that just the thought of something new is appealing. Everybody wants/likes something new. All they need to do is say "New" on the package and they have our attention. They know that some people won't even notice that the phrase "NEW package"means exactly what it said. Nothing new inside. Gotcha. and they lol. Then they lol some more cos the package is a little bigger but the product is not.
They could say "NEW way of ripping you off" paired with a photo of some hot ass ho such as myself, combine that with the phrase "100% guaranteed pure product" and probably six out of ten guys would read it "New way of Getting You Off!" "100% Guaranteed Pure Pussy!" and buy two containers of it. Then they get home with it and find the fine print says something like this:

By purchase of this product, you agree that you have read this entire legally binding document which, after filtering out all the legal jargon we use to hide the facts that we are by law (giggle) required to own up to, (we know you have already stopped reading so we will just say it now and if we see a slump in sales we will bury the facts deeper, if not, we will see just how fucking blatant we can be about truth in advertising (we are all loling right now) in the future, means that you waive all rights to sue us even if you don't even know that waive spelled this way is not a form of greeting. You agree to not hold us liable even if your use of our product causes you harm or death. You agree to our non-disclosure policy or face fines and jail time. (that is, you can't tell anybody how shitty we fucked you or you will fucking go to jail (we're ROFL now)) and you agree to accept full responsibility for proper disposal of any unused product while acknowledging you know you are paying us for the contents of this container which contains none other than our waste product from manufacture of this container. OK, it does contain freeze dried product from the restrooms and may contain power plant waste in amounts declared negligible by the EPA. (we just love to fuck with them! lolz for realz!) Oh yea, you also agree that all sales are final and there is no fucking way you're getting your money back, you brainwashed apathetic sheep of a loser. We know this special promotion will not last, so we are gonna just say fuck everybody else and fuck the planet, too. And baby? What do you love more? All this money or the kids? Yea, me too. Fuck 'em.
