Tranny Universe

It's been in the news for a while, and dominated the results of Twitter searches on all things Trans for at least a week. Here's one of my favorite Tweets:

The Miss America Pageant will now accept transgendered contestants Thank God we can now denigrate and objectify them like we do real woman

Except, it's Miss Universe, not Miss America. Hundreds of Tweeters got it wrong. Dey was jus so spaz wit dis fierce tranny! smh

Jenna Talackova will compete for the Miss Universe Canada pageant title May 19 in Toronto. But aren't pageants like Miss Universe just for real women? Real women...

Don't try to tell a transwoman that she isn't a real woman. We didn't just wake up one morning and decide to chop it off.

I mean, I get it; people want to see a perfect woman. Really, what's better than a beautiful, sweet girl with great talent, smarts and a smokin' hot body that could turn a straight girl lesbian! Nobody's perfect, though. How many girls in these contests have had some medical tweaking? Where do you draw the line? I propose having the contest in two categories: Non-op women and Post-op women, weather they began life with dangly bits between their legs or not. The dangle don't define doodly.

We are real women.
The changes we make to our bodies are an attempt to fit them to our identities. We really don't have the option to do nothing and still be treated as a female in society. Here's your choice, ladies: You can try to find peace being treated like a man, forever hiding your femininity, or express your true identity and still be misunderstood. That's it. Now what are you going to do?

We were born prewired as female but outfitted as male.
For that, we are disadvantaged women.
We are unprivileged women.
We aren't "real women" you say.
We're real women,
just not perfect.

UPDATE:
In the news this morning, the youngest person to have Gender Reassignment Surgery, Jackie Green, has made it to the semi-finals in the Miss England pageant.

*I'd like to point out that I'm not dissing transmen. The facts are the same for them. The text is just easier to follow from a single point of view.
