No man like her has ever occupied a prominent cabinet post.

But President Obama, in an effort to display his solidarity with gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders has appointed Amanda Simpson to serve as a Senior Technical Advisor at the Department of Commerce.

“I’m truly honored to have received this appointment and am eager and excited about this opportunity that is before me. And at the same time, as one of the first transgender presidential appointees to the federal government, I hope that I will soon be one of hundreds, and that this appointment opens future opportunities for many others,” Ms. Simpson gushed.

Ms. Simpson was formerly Mitchell Simpson, a test pilot and worked for Raytheon Missile Systems in Tucson, Arizona.

Eight years ago, he underwent a surgical procedure to remove his male sex organs and his Adam’s Apple. At the same time, he received massive injections of testosterone and received breast implants.

Simpson declined to elaborate on the medical procedures she undertook to become a woman but explained, “I am much more comfortable who I am today than what I was before. I struggled with this my whole life.”

Following the make over, Mitchell became Amanda, ran for Congress (unsuccessfully), and became a delegate for Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) during the Democratic National Convention in 2008.

Simpson is a longtime LGBT activist, having been a leader in the National Center for Transgender Equality, Out & Equal, the Southern Arizona Gender Alliance, the Southern Arizona ACLU and the Arizona Human Rights Fund.

The YWCA recognized Simpson as one of their “Woman on the Move” in 2004.

This just further proves the point that some people don't even try to understand. Here's a news story and the author doesn't even bother to get the facts straight. Obviously zero research was made. Not so obvious, yet interesting is the lack of the author's mane.
